Well I didn’t see the game, today was just relying on Five Live Extra commentary. I have to say that I thought this was going to be really difficult. I was concerned that we might be one of those sides being talked about later because we were victims of a cup upset. I needn’t have worried.
Alex made 7 changes to the side that beat Blackpool in mid-week with Taylor regaining the job between the sticks and Debyshire and Zigic heading up the attack. Jean Beausejour kept his place however as did Hleb.
The game sounded like it was Millwall who had more of the ball but it was the Blues who demonstrated how to finish. Derbyshire, who must be desperate to play, scored two with Murphy scoring from a free kick on the edge of the box between them.
With us being 3-0 up at half time, the game was won – but to give Millwall credit they didn’t give up. They got a chance to pull a goal back after Dann gave away a penalty. Unfortunately for Millwall, Morison hit a poor shot and the score stayed at 3-0.
In the 2nd half, Millwall continued to press but went further behind after Jerome made it 4 just a few minutes after coming on as sub. Millwall gained a consolation goal in the last minute, but Blues had already done a professional job in a situation that could have been very difficult.
