The Day Has Arrived!

Well here we are, I thought I’d do a quick brief blog.

Our Premier League season kicks off at 15.00 today at the Stadium of Light. Is everyone excited?

I’m looking forward to this season, because we will get a measure of whether last season WAS a fluke, or if we really ARE a mid-table side!

  1. Kev, I think I’ll feel more excited when our first home game comes around. For some strange reason I’m feeling a bit flat about the opener today. I suspect that all our transfer deals falling through this week haven’t helped. I just feel that we are going into the season under strength squad wise and we will have the same old problem of finding goals difficult to come by. The areas that many of us have suggested are thin such as up front, pace out wide in midfield and the full back areas where we lack depth have still not been addressed and the season is upon us! I hope I’m wrong and Zigic, Jerome and O’Connor bag 15 apiece with contributions from other areas but I suspect it wont happen. 🙁

  2. Can’t wait mate! I’m happy with who Alex has added to the squad, keeping my fingers crossed for a pacey winger/midfielder though. Maybe N’Zogbia. I think we will be a safe mid table team if we do add a quick winger. I can see Jerome having a great season playing off a big forward like Zigic and Foster will be solid.
    My prediction: 10th
Let’s get off to a good start against Sunderland today! A nice early indicator of our potential given that they are tipped by many to finish somewhere in the middle of the table too.
