  1. i still think we need a creative midfield player bowyer, carsley getting on johnson still not fully fit whos going to provide the ammunition for benitez, hope hes not like his namesake the tinkerman !!!

  2. i think we should get joe hart on loan for a season he would be great maik taylor is to old and colin doyle is unreliable

  3. Alan Smith, Barry Ferguson – both have had problem histories but quality, bobo balde – cheap. joe hart would be class and then maybe another qaulity midfielder – sean davis

  4. Heard on the grapevine this morning that Jordi Gomez is available from Espanyol. He was very impressive for Swansea last season. Good player; would welcome his arrival. Luis Biglia would be an excellent addition as would the centre halves being talked about.

  5. Blues are definately lacking a winger and a creative playmaker that can help provide attacking force. Also we lack energy in midfield id love to see Aaron Ramsey on loan and a Leon Osman from Everton. I believe we need at least 1 wing back. Kelly would be great and a left back as David Murphy isnt good enough and Quadrue is too slow in the PREM! We have signed Joe Hart Which is Great !!

  6. I think everybody knows we need another 2 centre backs, a midfielder, a winger and another forward………for me Sol Campbell would be a good edition, Zat Knight, Craig Gardner, definately bring back Jermaine Pennant……….Now for the perhaps unrealistic…….Javier Saviola on loan, Eidur Gudjonsson and, wait for it how about even a cheeky loan bid for Shevchenko??????

  7. well a dream signing would be for blues to blow millions on someone like iniesta.
however on a serious note i would like to see somebody like dugarry but in an attacking midfield position maybe jenas and then a big strong forward who can actually jump and hold the ball up such as tuncay or marlon king

  8. a sneaky bid for ruud van nistleroy an id pay the wages he would want as he will guarentee u goals . plus biglia and gomes would be great signings i wouldnt touch knight as he is crap . uti have fith in big eck to do what he can and what is right to keep us in the prem. KRO

  9. I think we have done pretty well already. I agree with Bazza that Gomez would be a great signing. The left back position is a worry I would go back to Cov and pick up Dan Fox.

  10. i would love to see webster of sheff utd, hes pacey and loves to attack which blues have missed since pennant, and gardener for me is a must and would really upset the apple cart down the road and finally also the two fotune lads aswell especially the striker ,well done the board for starting to realise the manager ; who ever it may be needs supporting ,and the fans need to be louder. as the away fns seem to louder all the time,so come on u bluenoses lets keep st andrews the fortress it can be.

  11. I’d like to see a decent left winger come in to allow Fahey to move into central midfield and Fadds to play in a free role off the front man.

We obviously need a creative central midfielder, and Gomez is a good bet. I would also like to see a move for Liverpool’s Jay Spearing. He has a great future, as he showed in his cameo appearance off the bench against Real. With Fahey moving inside, and Jordan Mutch hopefully fit next season, there are promising home-grown options. None of them are proven at Prem level, but we have that experience around them in the likes of Carsley, Bowyer (we think) and Johnson.

Given likely tactics away from home next season, we need a front man who is big, powerful and can hold the ball up. Bent is not that man for me. Nor is Jerome, who has different attributes. We are apparently in for Nancy boy Fortune (nice headline, Teamtalk! The best since “Blues Launch Butt Probe”!), but I think that this is the area where we may be in for a surprise.

Turning to the back four, we appear to be busy in the centre back department, with a good mixture of youth and experience being sought there. I gather that Espinoza’s pace leaves something to be desired, but it’s hard to buy three big, srong, fast, ball-playing centre backs with the money we have available! Not to mention that everybody is after centre backs at the moment.

Joe Hart would be an excellent addition between the sticks.

Congratulations to all involved at the club for the most interesting close season for a long time. And finally, a cheer for what may prove to be one of the most significant acquisitions of all: the new pitch!

P.S. I’m relieved to hear the dimensions of the big screen that’s going up this summer. Given the Jeff Hall clock experience, I had visions of us all peering up at a second hand sat nav screen!

  12. i think we should sign a decent Centre half, a real captin maybe look at teams who have went down and look at there players, for me we really need a commanding centre half someone like baraja from valencia i think he would be good but the poblem is getting big players like this to come to birmingham

  13. Am I the only blue nose that does’t think the targets were after are just not that good and before everyone starts thinking oh another suicidal moaner let me just say I am really exited for the next season and hopeful.
    so here’s my view,

Scot Dann (Not proven in the prem, playing for walsall 18mths ago, and 3.5 mil?).

Christian Benitez (playing in the mexican league and not that prolific and 9 mil for an unproven again!).

Espinoza (c’mon who has heard of him!)
Balde (didn’t want to come last year so lets turn him down!)
Bowyer and Traore (will comand big wages and if they were still any good there clubs would want them).
Johnson (Cardiff) 5 mil? c’mon (you buy championship you end up there).

On a more positive note I think Hart would be a great signing although have heard the VILE are sniffing! and Onyeweu looked good against the Italians last night but is he stalling on signing.

I just think were signing too many unknowns I hope i’m wrong.

Here’s some I like to dream about,

    Either, for the strikers,
David Bellion, Djibril Cisse, Sylvan Wiltord or Kezman all in the region of Benitezs’ fee, Michael Owen is begging for a club a risk i know! and all would want big wages but…
    Defenders,
Has Jaap Stam retired? if so why not Djouru from Arsenal, Ryan Taylor, Sol Campbell.
    Midfielders,
Harry Kewell, Pennant back, Darren Fletcher or Gary O’neil.
    AND OF THE DUGARRY ILK,
From Van Nistlerooy, Scholesy, Kluivert or FIGO.

We need players for the likes of Stoke, Fulham, Portsmouth etc to worry about.

  14. 5 F***ING MILLION FOR JOHNSON WHAT A WASTE! THE 3.5MIL FOR DANN AND THIS 5 MIL COULD OF BOUGHT NEAR ENOUGH ANY QUALITY PROVEN DEFENDER AND THEN A COUPLE OF FREEBIES, WHATS THE MAN DOING IM STARTING TO GET A LITTLE ANGRY!
