Away games on the Sunday after a European game are always going to be difficult but it looked like we had this one under control for most of the game. The first half we dominated without creating too many chances and it was from about the seventh corner that Rooney scored. We then had a goal disallowed but I couldn’t see why although no one seemed to complain much.
The second half was a bit dull until Watford scored. Jerome was sent on which was a good move, if a bit late, as I feel Wood and Rooney are to similar to work that well together. Jerome didn’t make much of an impact and is clearly not match fit but I assume his appearance means he is staying. The build up play for our second was excellent and it was taken very well by Wood. Coming so late we all assumed it was job done but no. A speculative shot was hit straight at Myhil who chose to punch rather than tip over. Unfortunately he punched it straight up in the air and Martin Taylor of all people was able to head it into the empty net.
Two points dropped and two more that Myhil has cost us. West Brom fans must be laughing at us for taking him when they got Foster. Time for a change. I’m not a big fan of Colin Doyle but he’s got to be given a chance ahead of that clown.
Oh and when are Watford going to do something about the eyesore that half their ground is? It’s still as bad as when I was there in 2009.
The eyesore is one stand, not half the ground. This is due to be rebuilt over the coming months.
Both teams today showed why they will be operating at the bottom of the league. Neither side showed any real invention or drive. Both Birmingham’s goals were through sloppy defending, the second being a wayward pass by Dickinson, and not good Birmingham build up play. Birmingham had only two shots on target all afternoon, but fortunately both found the net. Your “clown” keeper, as you put it, saved a certain own goal with a smart save and generally played well. Had no chance with the first goal and it was a great strike. This is by far Watford’s worse performance of the season, but incredibly it earnt them a point. Such is football.
Why redevelop? You couldn’t fill the stands you have. Build a supermarket there or maybe a bowling alley.
I agree that neither side played well but I still see it as two points dropped. Conceding a late equaliser always feels like a defeats

“Phil Johnson”……bottom end of the table?. We played a makeshift midfield AND forward line!. Blues are expecting a number of first team players back over the next few weeks,so our team will look very different next time we meet. Our strength will show in the end and I wouldnt expect us to be down the wrong end of the table for too long. Whats your excuse??
Same old blues….same old mistakes
it’s no coincidence that hughton (who wasn’t everybodys first choice) is making the same mistake as the two managers before him. that mistake is LIAM RIDGEWELL. we had a good win in the week and then were forced into making a change to the line up. great opportunity for hughton to give spector a chance at centre half but oh no, he goes and puts ridgewell in there, two relegations with ridgewell already, do we really want a third?
Bearwood…we dont need an excuse. We dont have delusions of grandeur. You’re down the bottom of the league whether you like it or not. If you dont believe me, nick a paper tomorrow and ask your mate to read it to you.
Phil Johnson…..I’ve no delusions of grandeur sunshine!. I do not expect us to be challenging for promotion anymore than I expect us to be getting sucked into a relegation battle with you lot. We’re average at best and poor when short of bodies!, not just poor continually…..like ermmmm Watford!!
I think a good look at the paper would also show you that you’ved played one more match than us and (oh yes) three home games ,compared to our one?. Bit of a lop sided fixture list in your favour and we’re still above you!!. I’ll give you my mates number and he can read the facts out to you from the paper I rob in the morning.
We’ve not been relegated for quite a few years, so are not used to it. Remind me, when was your last relegation battle?
I didn’t think Ridgewell played badly at all.

bob, did you watch the game? ridgewell just cannot command the area like he should. taylor had no trouble at all scoring the equaliser while liam WATCHED him. if the rumours are true about ben turner, hopefully it will bring ridgewells time at our club to a long overdue end. we need to move forward and must shift the dead wood. on a positive note, looks like murphy is playing more like the player that hibernian fans raved about prior to him signing for us, long may that continue.
A few comments about today’s game. I didn’t feel that Myhill was to blame for the goal, it was a rocket shot that he did well to stop. On another day, it would have gone over or away to safety.
Both goals were the fault of the defence, who failed to close down both shots from the edge of the box, from the same player too.
Overall, we had relative control for much of the gane, without carving out too many clear cut chances. This is becoming a familiar story so far. Nonetheless, there were several under par performances.
Wood took his goal well, but we were actually saying that it was long past the time when he should have come off! He was fading and our attacks were breaking down with him. What do we know eh!
I also disagree about Cameron. I felt he made a difference when he came on. If we can keep him, he will thrive at this level. Our attack looks slow and one dimensional with Wood and Rooney, and is crying out for someone with CJ’s mobility and power.
I think that’s the last we will see of agent Ridgewell. The way he made a particular effort to come and applaud the fans on his own seems to suggest it was a farewell.
Great turn out from the noses there. I thought there looked more than the reported 1,300 that were supposedly there.
