Well there’s no doubt that a point is better for us than Wolves, they must be seriously worried having need to find at least 2 wins from the remaining 3 games. I personally can’t see it I’m afraid and I think that Wolves are now odds on favourites for the drop.
On to the game, Wolves had a cracking start. They looked brighter and more urgent and their pressure resulted in the penalty. At first look I thought it was an outrageous decision, but on the replay I think the ref got it right. Not sending Foster off was also correct as the player was neither heading goalward or have the ball under control. So Wolves take the lead.
We then woke up, and we were all over Wolves. Our equaliser was no surprise, Seb scoring from a defending mix-up. At that point I felt we were going to go on and win.
Then the most contriversial moment of the game occured. Craig Gardner was given a 2nd yellow for diving and was off. Again my 1st thought was that the decision was wrong – however again on replay he wasn’t touched. It was a stupid thing to do as he knew he was on a yellow.
During the 1st half Henry and Stearman were fortunate to be on the pitch as both put a number of bad challenges in.
The 2nd was much of a non event with neither side worrying either keeper, in fact most of the half the keepers passed the ball to each other! Blues defended very well, especially Johnno. Although all the back four were brilliant.
So we now move onto 39 points which could well be OK especially if West Ham fail to win today.

A point yes ,but a truly boring game! just one shot on goal at home against a team as bad as the dingles… not good enough !

The sending off changed the game as we were on top at the time. After that we clearly played for a draw, this was apparent by how much time Foster took to take goal kicks. They may as well have just knocked the game on the head at half time and let us all go home early.
I just hope that we already have enough points as I can’t see us getting many more.
Cannot disagree with Aylesburyblue, the tactic of continually passing back to foster who hoofs the ball up field to Jerome, who recently has at least started to win a few headers but is passing the ball to no-one the tactics for a 4-5-1 is for the midfield to support the lone striker but we seem to be standing watching play rather than pushing forward. If we get a goal it seems enough for Mcleish and we immediately change to a defensive pattern and go for the point. I know many will view the point as a good result with 10 men but surely Mcleish could have seen that the wolves attack was as toothless as ours was and beefed up our attack with the hope of winning the 3 points.
If we continue to defend 1 point situations we only need a couple of wins from teams below us and we will be dragged back into the dogfight. Positives however were the performances of Beausejour and Larsson if we only had a forward to pass to who new how to score we would be sitting pretty and not wondering where the next points are coming from.
