Blues v Bolton Brief Post Match Thoughts

Blimey talk about hanging on there! Bite your nails stuff at the end – however a well fought for 3 points by the Blues.

Super Kev put us 1-0 up in the first few minutes when the ball fell to him after a corner and he belted it into the net. The first half was pretty even, but Foster did have to make 3 good saves – especially the 3rd one which was going in. Bolton finished the 1st half strongly, but we did play some good stuff on the break.

The 2nd half was much of the same and Gardner put us 2-0 up after a good run and shot, and at that time we looked totally in control. Elmander scored a great goal for Bolton though, Blues went totally to sleep at the back. To be fair, the only time in the game though.

Over all a decent performance, but the 3 points were the most important thing. We were helped with Villa, Wigan, West Ham and Wolves all dropping points.

However one bad thing was Carr going off with a knock. I hope this doesn’t mean that we see Davies return because I thought we looked more assured at the back without him.

Anyway, one quarter of the mission complete! 3 wins to go!!
