), will transmit to the players.I know if I was a ‘random fan’ who didn’t frequent J&S very often, and wanted to get a feel for how fans thought we were doing, with a view to heading to Saint Andrews, I probably wouldn’t bother. I imagine gates will be lower simply through a lot of fans thinking they don’t want to witness Jerome miss again or ‘another defensive display’. I also think some of the fans who are there won’t be quite as vocal in their support. Especially if we go a goal down. In the past, we’ve cheered the lads on regardless. I know sometimes we can be very dry humoured in our support, but generally we’ve always been positive. I always loved it when I was a kid, that we sang our hearts out even when we were losing to Grimsby!
I just wanted to get a feel for whether people feel it makes any difference how positive we are….
POLL TIME. (Choose what you think is going to happen in the poll on the right hand side of the blog).
I feel the way we react DOES affect the lads on the pitch. We all know that at Wembley, the fans roaring the lads on gave them the belief that “Yes, We Can Do It” and they delivered.
In the past, the way we get behind the lads at St Andrews turned our hallowed ground into a fortress… away teams knew they were in for a battle, they feared us, the crowd, who they saw as a 12 man on the pitch.
If we waiver in our support of the team, home or away, they WILL be affected by it. Our negativity will transfer to the team and their self-belief will be destroyed.
If we have belief then so will the lads, so keep the faith and we will prosper – KRO.
If more fans could come to St Andrews for our remaining home games especially, it would undoubtedly make a difference to the team. We could get 12 more points. Be positive & the team will feel it.
I practice psychology. Yes, it DOES make a difference!
AM will be telling his players to stay focussed and positive, but at the same time to relax and express themselves. The same goes for us in the crowd. Let’s go to St Andrews in good heart and in good voice.
