I can imagine if you were a neutral watching that game, you’d have enjoyed it. As a Blues fan it was very frustrating. We had so many key players out – however we still gave a good account of ourselves.
Both teams clearly wanted to finish it today, I have to say I wondered if I was watching the same game as Chris Waddle. The bloke is clueless. It was a very entertaining game with both sides mixing a passing and a direct game to gain an advantage.
Bolton took the lead twice through poor defending by Blues. I’m sorry to say, but Curtis Davies does not look anything like a Premier League player. Hopefully that can be sorted in the summer. Hopefully we will get some of our injured defenders back soon so he doesn’t have to play again.
I was very encouraged by the forward play though. Redmond and Mutch look like decent players. Phillips was selfish a few times in the 2nd half when he had players clear on the right. Having said that, he scored a great goal – actually both our goals were well taken by Jerome and Phillips – but a 3rd equaliser just didn’t come. We had hit the post and had a couple of other close chances in the game, but hey ho. To be fair to Bolton, Ben Foster made a few good saves too.
Both Ferguson and Jiranek went off injured. I REALLY hope that they aren’t serious otherwise we will really be in trouble.
It’ll only be 1 trophy this year then, so I don’t care now. It’s all about staying up and assuming we do Carling Cup Winners, an FA Cup Quarter and maintaining Premier League status will have to be seen as a successful season.
How does Davies get away with so many obvious fouls before getting booked he should have been sent off Today, First booking for a dive which a blind bat could have seen, once again we get a dragging foot incident which goes against us and then his second half booking would have seen him on the bench instead of holding Beasejour down for the winning goal pass.
Why did Dowd allow him so many talks before finally booking him, and still Davies has a lot to say.
Heaps of respect to the players Today, Davies obviously needs some time in the reserves to regain his touch but after so long without a game it was just a bridge to fr from him today.
Redmond and Mutch really do look fine prospects and I hope they also get some game time in the remaining games.
KRO – To premiership survival.
well kev your very grecious in defeat, thanks for your honest comments, chris waddle talks twaddle ,we all know that. but as worthy winners of carling cup (which gave me great pleasure) you were under stength and your lads gave everything. good luck with your survival fight, im sure mr mcleish will do the business your top lads. kev.
robmac, you only see what you want to see, k davies gets the sh**t kicked out of him every game. if you watch the game properly , and not just what you want to see youll realise the stick he actually takes, no dis respect to you youve just lost a q-final maybe you should youtube all the kickings he gets ???? good look with the relegation fight we need teams like yourselves up their. kev
The team gave it a go coming back from that penalty not too sure about Davies for the future I know he hasnt played much time will tell . 3 pts at Wigan next week Blue Boys we will stay up with a fight for Premeir League survival KRO
Kev you are right my team lost a QF and it would have been nice to congratulate you for a job well done but when a England stiker has to resort to diving to impress the ref against a team of reserves then it will always leave bitter taste in the mouth. I wish you luck for the semis but I can’t help believe that his antics will cost you sometime soon.
An entertaining game which beforehand I thought would be a walk over for Bolton with our makeshift team but we put up an amazing attacking display with players who hardly get a game. So far I haven’t been impressed by Curtis Davies he seems extremely error prone and catastrophically so ever time he plays. So well done to the lads for a great performance and now we can concentrate on Premier League survival which is more important IMO than another cup this season since we already have won once which was fantastic but a continued run in the FA cup may have been a bridge too far. Congratulations to Bolton for a very entertaining match and good luck in the remainder of the cup.
robmac, k davies has, had 1 england call up id hardly call him a england regular, how many times as jerome dived this season???. davies is just a tough striker to play against. defenders hate playing him, cause he battles back, i read on some of your other forums people saying how theyd love him in your side, take his tough approach out of the game what you left with? football is a mans game, all the do-gooders who want a non contact sport really pee me off. once that happens the game is DEAD. having said that, stop looking at what you persvee as a dirty cheat and just admit your FRIGHTNED to death of him. sick to death of hearing all these crap excuses WE ONLY HAD OUR SECOND TEAM PLAYING. UTTER RUBBISH !!!! how many players have you in your squad??? all PREMIIERSHIP PLAYERS. ADD TO THE FACT YOU WERE AT HOME. MASSIVE INTIMADATIG HOME CROWD. AWAYS HAVE BEEN. anyway i wish you all the best. and really hope you stay in prem. kev.
robmac, i aint having ago at you i respect bcfc but i fkin hate those pussys ashit vile. do they only no one song villa villa —–villa villa kin w4nkers
Kev, I agree that football is a mans game but if you remember Bowyer was not playing in this game so I would expect no whinging if he is back for the next game and a few tackles fly in.
Zigic will probably be playing in the next game also then it will be your defenders turn to be frightened to death.
By the way Kev, Redmond is 17 but he seemed to frighten the Cr@p out of Robinson with his pace.
Anyway game is over and you now have a trip to Wembley, enjoy the day, drink in the atmosphere and who knows maybe Kevin Davies may con another Ref and get you into the Final (Ha Ha)
Cheers Mate
