Here is a post that one of our newer users, called Harry, left. I thought it was worthy of blogging.
I’ve taken a deep breath and relaxed.
The disappointment and frustration of yesterday has been eased by the use of alcohol and tobacco.
Some things don’t surprise me;
We are in the bottom three in the new year.
Our sustained inability to stick the round thing in the net opposite Foster’s.
The 2nd season syndrome; myth or not, I half expected a poor run would follow our best League finish in 50+ years.
We get within a gnats chuff of Veela, but we can’t quite overtake them.
The media spin (or reality) that we can only afford two loan signings in January.
The suicidal despair of some fans who sit by me; we are the original yo yo team after all.
Things that do surprise me;
Win (?yes I know) a game in hand and we are practically in a Europa Cup position (slight exaggeration but you get my drift).
Our previously frugal defence are looking, at times, like the Keystone Kops after a crate of Stella each.
We are in a semi final of a cup (which we may screw up of course)
Ecks testicles are smaller than previously imagined.
I am as gutted as the next Nose, but we have to keep some perspective and accept that we have not been relegated……..yet.
We have also lulled L’Arse into a false sense of security
. They obviously fully believe that they will only have to turn up at Wembley (after we have dealt with Alf Garnett’s crowd) and their superior brand of sublime one touch footy will be too good for our 451. Fools.
All I am saying (apart from score ffs) is that the fat lady is only gargling and personally I would not be surprised if we actually get ourselves sorted.
Let your hearts beat strong…2011 could end up being ok.
More stella please..
Good Post… IMHO we will not sign anyone of note as the so called funds are not there… Loan signings of the kneejerk reaction that will not help a bit other than to push us closer to the Championship.. We will be lucky to see wembley at this rate never mind another tanking by Arsenal…
Been a bluenose since 1969 so i have seen it all….
I hope i am wrong

Entertaining post as always. We’re right on the knife edge at the moment that’s for sure. Three wins away from wembley and premier league safety. Three defeats away from oblivion. The difference is one decent striker in my book. As we know st andrews is THE striker’s graveyeard (just look at what benitez has done since he left us!) so whoever it is needs to break the hoodoo and that means a stalwart like Keane rather than a rookie like Boothroyd. So one signing will do me so long as it is the right one. In Eck we trust….
Well, you are the optomist where as i am not. My fear is we have been here before and I fear that we are doomed yet again! I have never really thought much of Eck as a manager although he does seem to know how to pick a player. I am sad to say this but I wish we had Big Sam rather than Big Eck as the football would be similar but results would be better.
In Eck we trust??? Why, have a look at points per game in 2010, the grounds empty, he has waisted the majority of money given to him lol trusting fools!! Forget saving a season save our club we go down and we’ll go bust due to the nature of the business model used when the club was purchased. Get beat at Blackpool sack him do the math!
we should of signed 2 decent wingers and a forward as soon as we seen the first firework of 2011,its not as we dont know we are in trouble,we will wait and wait go a few more games lose more points then decide to act then we will find its to late please act now eck and the board or i feel its local derbys against leicester and forsest next year unless the vile come with us,KRO SOTV.
Has the one called ‘Figo’ been sucking off his exhaust pipe or summat….? Tool.
I’m a lifelong Bluenose living in France, as I only watch the matches on TV or web I accept there are others here better qualified than me to comment however here are my thoughts.
1. We pass the ball well enough but dont move it forward with any pace, we are easy to defend against because of this.
2. Against lesser teams we should be able to trust our defence without the safety net of Ferguson who slows the game down too much. Yes I know he’s been great for us but he is predictable.
3. Either play Michel and see what he adds with a few games under his belt or sell the poor kid.
4. Mutch is coming back and he and Redmond must be given a chance to show what they can do, Redmond wll add pace down the wing.
5. Beaujour must now be given the starting place on the left for every game, its time for our defence to accept it must look after itself to a greater extent.
6. AM has got to put faith in the players he brings in and play them, can someone explain to me exacty why Deryshire is here.
Finally, sorry it’s been a long one, AM has got to get out of his current safety first mentality, other teams now know how to play against us, the time for such caution has gone if we are to go down lets at least do so with dignity, passion and a degree of flair and attacking effort.
