Talk about Groundhog Day. It was just the same as on Saturday. Poor for an hour, go two nil down and then look a completely different team. Why can’t we play like that from the start?
Is it the formation? Well most people wanted four-four-two and to start with the team that finished against West Ham. Gardner was good but Beausejour struggled all game and could have been substituted earlier. So hands up, who complained when Fahey was brought on for him (I did). I thought he played a major part in our revival and took his goal very well.
It’s great that we show such fight to come back but it would be better if we didn’t have to keep doing it. In the end I thought we were unluck to lose with a handball and two deflections in Stoke’s winner. I suppose they deserve some luck but before that there was only one team who was going to win and that was us. As for Stoke’s timewasting…some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Why did they need to dry the ball quite so much even for short throws?
With games against Man City and Chelsea coming up we could be bottom at the start of December. We’ve got to accept that it’s going to be another relegation dogfight this year.
At least we scored some goals. I thought this one would end 0-0.
now ive calmed down a little you’re thoughts pretty much sum up mine.
Fair play to Fahey he’s slowly bringing a lot of people round, myself included. I wouldnt have him as first choice but based on his last few appearances im happy with him as a back up CENTRAL (Not left) midfeilder.
Nice to see us scoring, but whats happened to our tough defence? the first and third goals we could have dealt with. The second was typical football, 2 minutes before we had 3 or 4 shots blocked on the line. Fair play to Fuller for finishing.
Jerome remains frustrating (not rubbish, just frustrating – i still see him as our best striker at the minute)
Why cant we start playing untill 2 down? Is it the players? Is it McLeish? Whatever the problem is its a huge one.
Man City and Chelsea up next, Christmas periods hard as well, Itll be a long hard struggle but I still think there are worse teams, on paper, than us. As the saying goes though, games arent won on paper …
Still letting in silly goals but at least we are scoring. Just wish we could play like that when its still nil nil. Be real struggle against chelsea but didn’t manchester lose to wolves the other week?
