A very hard worked for point, (if that makes sense!)
Spurs were all over us in the 1st half and deserved to be 1 up, and probably should have been further ahead. It must have been a nightmare to decide what to do to prevent Lennon and Bale running rampage – going 451 gave us the opportunity to do that but I don’t think it really worked. Spurs looked like they could score at any time, although our defence just about did enough.
Dave showed the odd glimpse of what he could do, so hopefully will still play a part during the season.
After the break McLeish changed us to 442 when he bought Larsson and Zigic on for Dave and Fahey. We looked a different side. We had a number of very good chances with one particular save by Gomez from Ridge. However a win for the Blues would have been unjust on Spurs and Gardner’s powerful header to make it 1-1 was probably the right score over all.
Not for the first time, Barry Ferguson was rightly MOM with a passioned committed performance!
Barry Ferguson is a class act without a doubt. Good review, mate. I reckon this latest set of unbeaten matches is the kickstart our season needed. We’ll continue to push on now. We’re still so tough to break down, especially at home.
